Guidelines for students using SHSAT Buddy
SHSAT Buddy is designed to support focused, honest practice with diagnostics, daily quizzes, and full-length practice tests. Please review these guidelines with a parent or legal guardian before using the platform.
1. Be Kind and Respectful
- Respect each student’s progress: Students begin with different strengths, schedules, and preparation needs. Do not compare scores in a way that embarrasses or discourages someone else.
- Communicate respectfully: Do not use any SHSAT Buddy feature to threaten, insult, harass, or impersonate another person.
2. Learn Honestly
- Complete your own work: Answer diagnostic, quiz, and practice-test questions without having another person complete them for you.
- Use results to learn: A score is useful when it helps identify what to review next. Looking up answers during a test makes the result less useful.
- Protect test content: Do not photograph, copy, record, post, sell, or share SHSAT Buddy questions, answers, or explanations.
3. Protect Your Account
- Keep login information private: Do not share your password or allow a friend to use your student profile. Activity under your profile is connected to your parent’s account.
- Ask a parent to manage purchases: Only a parent or legal guardian should purchase practice tests, manage a Daily Quiz subscription, or change account details.
- Use the correct profile: Each student should practice through the profile created for that student so progress and results remain accurate.
4. Use SHSAT Buddy Content Responsibly
- Use the platform for personal preparation: SHSAT Buddy content is provided for the student’s individual, non-commercial educational use.
- Do not bypass platform controls: Do not attempt to access another person’s account, reveal restricted test content, interfere with the platform, or use automated tools to collect questions.
- Keep reviews accurate: Use the explanations and completed-test review to understand mistakes, not to distribute answer keys to other students.
5. Speak Up About Safety
If anything on SHSAT Buddy makes you uncomfortable, appears incorrect, or does not seem safe, stop and tell a parent or guardian. A parent can contact SHSAT Buddy at support@shsatbuddy.com when help is needed.
6. If Guidelines Are Not Followed
SHSAT Buddy may ask a parent to review activity or may limit, pause, or permanently remove access when these guidelines or the Terms of Service are violated. This may include account sharing, attempts to copy protected content, dishonest test activity, harassment, or actions that affect platform safety and fairness.
SHSAT Buddy is a supplementary preparation tool. It does not guarantee a particular score or admission to a specialized high school. Use the platform to practice consistently, review mistakes, and decide what to work on next.
